Chrome Extension Data Processing

Tik4Down Chrome Extension only processes data required to execute user-initiated actions.

  • User-provided video URLs: used only when you run analyze/download actions.
  • Local extension settings: format, notification preferences, and history are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device.
  • Local download history: filename, format, and timestamp are stored locally to render history UI.
  • Core API calls: extension uses only /api/info, /api/profile-posts, and /api/proxy-download.

Retention and Third-Party Sharing

We keep processing scope and retention as limited as possible.

  • Server-side request handling: URL-based requests are processed for the requested operation and not used to build persistent user profiles.
  • Operational logs: limited technical logs may be retained for abuse prevention and reliability.
  • No data sale: user data is not sold and is not shared for advertising targeting.
  • Legal obligations only: disclosure is limited to valid legal requirements.

User Controls

You control extension data directly.

  • Clear history: remove local download history from the settings page.
  • Notification control: enable or disable extension notifications in settings.
  • Local storage lifecycle: extension-local data is removed when the extension is uninstalled by the browser.
